job history before it
- from 5th-12th grade i mowed lawns for my step dad's lawn care business, dilivered papers for the columbus dispatch, and i was a lifeguard at the city pool and ymca.
- after high school, i worked at honda manufacturing in bumper paint and motorcycle weld. i was a bartender and lifegaurd at froggies resort, and i worked in boat rentals at spend a day marina.
- joined the military in 2008 and became a faad systems operator for the ohio army national guard.
- when i got back from basic training, i had a job working in retail at express for men and a job in the food service working as a waiter at steak n' shake.
- i had a deployment to iraq when serving in the ohio army national guard as a c-ram crewmember. after iraq i worked at honda transmission plant in the die cast department, i was the squade leader for the national rifile matches, and the following year i was the operations nco of the national rifle matches.
2015-2017
my internship at oclc
- i spent a lot of time in the data center running cables from switch to switch and switch to server. i had access to over 100 cisco switches and routers.
- i did a lot of patching and closet switch configurations (i wrote switch scripts in notepad++) and end user network issues that desktop support couldn't fix.
- i decommissioned old devices from f5 load balance servers and changing then dns entries for them on the linux servers using ssh and editing the dns host files with vi text editor.
- i setup voip phones, conference phones, and configured the phones in cisco unified communications manager and opened up the switchports on the closet switches.
- i was in charge of writing cisco switch scripts for the closet devices during department restructuring.
2017-2018
nationwide insurance
- they provided four weeks of level one desktop support training and customer support training when hired on.
- i worked in a call center for level one it desktop support for all employees and agents contracted through nationwide insurance.
- i provided basic it support for the end user. anything that would take over ten minutes got forwarded on to level two.
- including internet connection issues, applicaiton break/fix issues, and application preferences.

the operations sergeant in division head quarters serves as the operations sergeant assigned to the joint air ground integration cell (jagic) in the 1st cavalry division deployable worldwide; acts as advisor to the battle staff in air defense operations; responsible for the health, welfare, discipline, safety and training of two nco personnel and two junior enlisted soldiers and family; maintains combat readiness capabilities to deploy worldwide in support of the operations air control cell in maintaining air tracks and tracking events affecting friendly air operations; force multiplying survivability through planning and current operations management of assets organic and non-organic to the division.
my role
- i was a liaison to the commander and would represent the commander in their absence.
- i would act as the conduit in sending and receiving command from board meeting, planning sessions, and other meetings that the commander was absent for.
- in time of deployment, i would monitor the operations of both the receiving and sending organizations and must monitor the current and future operations, understand and monitor pertinent staff issues, and anticipate potential problems.
- i would coordinate with sending and receiving organizations to help synchronize current operations and future operation plans on deployment.

my role
- i was a squad leader that supervised ten military personnel on a firing range in coordination with the range safety offices from the nra.
- i would coordinate with my squad on various tasks that were required of the military for the range i was responsible for.
- i would communicate with other squad leaders to fulfill military obligated tasks required for day to day operations on the ranges.
- my team provided range safety support and medical support on the ranges. my team also provided retail support for camp perry's souvenir shop.

- handled paperwork for 250-300 personnel to include hiring paperwork, mobilization paperwork, and other sensitive documentation.
- provided mission oversite to the platoons on the military side in coordination with the nra and other organizations
- represented the military in the offical nra meetings with high ranking nra members and other high ranking members of the organizations participating in the national rifle matches.
- provided anything human resource realted to the battalion soldiers including payment issues, vacation time, and eo related incidents.

GOALS

short term goal
as a short term goal, i would like to start my own side business to do random miscellaneous IT work for the smaller companies that don't have an IT help desk to do their basic IT help desk needs. i have always loved helping people out at work with their personal computer needs as a side hobby.
long term goal
as my long term goal, i want to become a professor at a university where i will teach information technology to the newer students during the time of my retirement. my plan is to teach the more intermidiate courses at first and possible some of the more advanced classes when comfortable to do so.
other goals
1 - i'm also interested in creating my own game in unreal engine 5.
2 - i'm also interested in producing my own music album using ableton live 11.

FUN FACTS

1 - i held a secret security clearance for the united states militry for the entire time that i was an enlisted soldier.
2 - i graduated top ten percent in my basic training class and top twenty five percent in my non-commissioned officer course.
3 - i was certified in cpr, life gaurd training, combat life saving, first aid training, basic hazmat training, field sanitation training, combatives level 1, and many other certification courses that were provided by the us military.
4 - i made two cds while playing in a garage band. i played the guiter and sang in the garage band. i played the trumpet in marching band.
5 - my home network consist of a nas storage device, printer, server for movies, virtual server for security application, a few laptops, a gaming/music desktop computer, professional router, camera server, and access points.
